Meet Anaam Jaet

My name is Anaam, a research assistant with the Clinical Trial Navigator (CTN) Program. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and Biochemistry, and I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Translational Health Sciences. My role involves helping patients with glioblastoma and gynecological cancers find clinical trials across North America. Each match is personalized, taking into account their diagnosis, biomarkers, treatment history and other factors listed in their medical charts.

What drew me to the CTN Program was my passion for patient care. It’s incredibly fulfilling to be part of a process that bridges the gap between patients and groundbreaking therapies, offering hope where conventional treatments may have fallen short. My role allows me to directly impact patients’ lives by helping them access these opportunities, and that’s a responsibility I hold close to my heart.

In addition to my role in patient navigation, I’m involved in an exciting research project that delves deeper into the role of clinical trial navigators. We’re exploring the perceptions, challenges, and benefits of having navigators involved in clinical trials by participating in multidisciplinary case conferences. This research aims to highlight the potential impact CTNs can have on trial enrollment and patient outcomes.

My time at the University of Windsor and in my community has deepened my commitment to advocating for equal access to healthcare. Through the CTN Program, I’m able to make a real impact, furthering both my professional and personal goals.
