Meet Salah Alhajsaleh

Hi everyone! I'm Salah, and I'm really excited to be part of the Clinical Trials Navigator (CTN) team. A little about my background – I completed my Bachelor of Science at the University of Windsor, where I majored in biomedical sciences. During my time there, I got involved in some fascinating research, like studying how soil treatments affect plant growth and looking into how metal ions impact the SARS-CoV-2 RNA polymerase. These experiences really honed my analytical skills and fueled my passion for scientific discovery.

Now, as a Translational Health Sciences master’s student, I’m fortunate to be working with the CTN team, where I help cancer patients navigate their clinical trial options. A big part of my role involves interviewing cancer patients to understand their experiences and get their perspectives on the program, helping us to improve our approach. Additionally, I assist with matching patients to clinical trials across the country, ensuring they can explore opportunities that may benefit them. This work gives me the chance to blend my love for research with a focus on patient care, collaborating with an amazing, multidisciplinary team to make sure patients have the support and resources they need.Being part of this team has been such a rewarding experience, as it allows me to bring together my academic, research, and community-focused skills. The work we’re doing not only makes a real difference for patients and their families but also helps drive healthcare systems to be more accessible and inclusive.

I hope this gives you a sense of what the CTN program means to me, and I’m really looking forward to continuing this journey alongside such a talented and dedicated team!
